We started at the parking area by Braemore Junction, and duly followed the sign that directed us up and behind the forestry plantation (rather than up the track through Braemore Wood). The ground was quite boggy for a while as we ascended, and the clouds were a little lower than they had been the day before.
Soon we reached Home Loch, and skirted round its eastern side, resisting the temptation to visit the boat house on the other side of the water.

After crossing a bridge we joined the main track that and followed it towards the northeast, up the hill, passing a picturesque waterfall on the way. The views towards the west and southwest were improving but although we knew An Teallach was 'over there', it was hardly visible through the cloud.

We continued east to the Bealach nam Buthan, beyond which the views east and southeast, towards Loch Glascarnoch, opened up. After a lunch stop we left the track and started to make our way up the southern slope of the corbett, towards the summit. It was hard work!

Eventually we reached the top, and enjoyed 360 degree views.

Considering that it was July, it was very cold and windy so we didn't hang about at the summit for very long. We headed towards the other top to the northwest, then descended southwest to join the track that led us back, past the waterfall and Home Loch, to our cars.

We then visited Corrieshalloch Gorge for some vertiginous views.
