Our first Munro (Fionn Bheinn)

Our first Munro EVER, we thought we'd bagged Ben Wyvis the previous year but due to thick fog and thick map reading it later transpired that we had not, so Fionn Bheinn has the honour of being our first.

Also memorable for the worst midge attack EVER, little blighters managed to crawl in our ears, up noses, in our hair.......really struggled to breathe as we walked up, each one of us swathed in a thick black cloud ...even the poor dog had midgey ears. By the summit the midges had gone and thankfully on the descent were nowhere to be seen.

Also had the misfortune to meet the most unpleasant braying woman up there. We made the mistake of saying hello to her (being friendly as walkers do) and pointed out the deer and the response was quite rude to put it mildly. The look on her poor husband/partner's face was a picture and she was really rude to him too...all we could hear on the descent was a shrill "Rupert, Rupert, RUPEEEEEERT"....poor bloke. We had a good laugh on the way down about the odds of meeting such an unpleasant person on top of such a remote mountain. We hoped the midges got her good and proper.

Great views from top, especially of the deer. Climbed by David (1), Sarah (1), Alice(1) and Sam(1)...oh and Nudge's first Munro too.

Well done all of you on your first Munro    this hill was a bit of an adventure for us last year when we got caught in a huge thunderstorm not far from the summit, scary it was  we didn't know what to do :? we dropped down a little then once it had passed we headed up to the summit and a very nice summit it was too :)

Midge attack and shorts?  Seriously though there's nothing worse than a bad attack.

Nice shot of the deer. :D
