A year ago we stayed in a cottage called Balinoe on the Black Isls with uninterrupted views of Ben Wyvis from the back of the cottage.
That year we set to climbing it, only for the mother of all fogs to come down and we only made it to Little Wyvis but were under the impression that we'd bagged our first Munro.
This time around we were staying at West Lodge, Contin and wanted to give Ben Wyvis another go, purely for the summit views.....the day was hot and sunny and on reaching our "summit" it dawned on us that we hadn't even come CLOSE to bagging this Munro. This time there were no mistakes and we made it all the way to the summit and were rewrded with excellent views in every direction.
