Hi Stuart, there are two or three mountains that you could consider to give you a real taste of the Cuillin. Check out Bruach na Frithe, Sgurr na Banachdich and maybe Sgurr nan Eag. Even just walking up into the corries offers wonderful walks

It's always good to have something to giggle about and be the topic of some good craic!!! A useful distraction if anyone is fearing the worst

Some great photo's there Bod,the mist gives it even more of an atmospheric look about it. Not that it needs it! Be nice to get back to Skye some day,last time i was there you still had to get the ferry across!

Braemar is going to be rather tame by comparison Bod! Some ride that looked like, and sage words to go along with the fantastic photos. One of your finest I'd say!

Enjoyed that - and some sensible advice too. The Harvey map is definitely the one to use, as it's not obscured by crag symbols. After seeing it on the wall at Skye Mountain Rescue I bought a copy before my next visit. (We were helping with the rescue as my friend is a doctor, rather than being rescued, I hasten to add.)

I remember scrambling back down to An Dorus from Ghreadaidh and passing a party coming up roped up, and wondering whether a safety rope might not have been a bad idea.

Didn't know about Eag Dubh. It looks fun. That basalt dyke is almost like a staircase in your pictures.

Think I'll do a couple of drive-by's before I even do that Bod.................I'm in no hurry can you tell!

Fantastic report, really conveys the excitement of your day, and the phots are great. Some of these TR maybe as close as I ever get, but seeing your advice to Stuart I may venture that way one day.

You must do MM, get in there and play. Try a walk up to Coire Lagan
