Location: Cornalees Visitor Centre, Loch Thom, near Greenock.
Starting at Cornalees Visitor centre car park (free parking) the track heads along the side of the compensation reservoir to Loch Thom Cottage, before rising slowly as it heads over Scroggy Bank and goes down hill, passing a number of reservoirs to Overton. The walk joins the Greenock Cut path, passing waterfalls, bridges & bothies as it contours along the hillside for 6.5km to Cornalees. If you start late enough and the visitor centre is open you can see the history of the greenock cut before heading of, explaining why the bothies and streams are there.
This is a walk following road and well maintained paths, with a gradul ascent between the first and 2nd km, the down hill and fairly flat from then on, a nice family walk or cycle with great views of the clyde.
