Today we drove up to Achnashellach after our day out yesterday on The Five Sisters to climb a Corbett and two Munros. We parked up and took the track up and over the railway line, continueing on it till a path with a waymarked sign leads you down and along the river. We continued till we came to a path to the left, which led up towards the Corbett. We left the path just before the small Lochan and climbed up the steep slopes of the Corbett, getting to its summit from the north but we should have stayed on the path a wee bit longer to climb the scree path that leads to the Corbett. Jimmy did point this out to me but i opted for the more direct route though we did return by the scree path. We then made our way over to climb Sgorr Ruadh, it was on this summit we had lunch getting shelter from the wind behind the cairn. After lunch we made our way down following the path which led up to the next Munro, Beinn Liath Mhor. At this point we decided to give the ridge walk back a miss as the winds were picking up so we left our rucksacks where we would return to collect them after summiting. We met a lovely lady who must have been in her seventies descending the summit of Beinn Liath Mhor who told us how windy it was on the ridge, she was also carrying a full pack as she would be wild camping that night near Maol Chean-dearg. We wished her well as we parted. The climb up this Munro is scrambly and rocky but its a short climb. Once back down at the rucksacks we decided to hide Mo's rucksack before she got down and claimed the wind had blown it away, she didn't quite believe us though even though it's lighter than a feather. After we stopped fooling around we got down onto the path at Coire Lair, following it all the way back to Achnashellach. Another great day out in superb weather, even with the wind.
