Two munros, four explosions.

Cloudless blue Autumnal skies for the whole duration of the walk. The path up to the plateau was incredibly rocky, rather steep in places and seemingly endless (still if it was too easy, you'd feel like a wuss). The quarry at the top was exactly as described in walkhighlands and as there was no snow, it was easy to spot. From here, the first munro, Carn na Caim was nice and easy to walk to. We could see a path up to the cairn from the bealach but followed the walkhighlands route which took us on a diversion (no complaints tho'). Great views of the larger snow-capped Cairngorms from here. On the return we followed the path running alongside the metal fenceposts and that made for a less convoluted descent. This was when the first of four explosions (we have no idea from where) rocked our world and scared two thirds of our little party witless.

The walk to the second munro, A' Bhuidheanach Bheag was a real rollercoaster with lots of ups and downs. We missed the turn at the large white cairn (even though some helpful soul had created three very large arrows in sparkly white quartz pointing in the correct direction- we spotted this on the way back - Specsavers for Railton22 methinks). A' Bhuidheanach Bheag again offered spectacular views and well worth the climb. Walked by Sarah(31), David(31) and Nudge
