As daylight hours were not on our side and knew this round was gona take most of the day we decided to do the route in reverse in case we had to cross the Allt a'Chaorainn in the dark.
The going was not bad for the first mile or so till the path deteriorated and turn pretty muddy the frost had firmed it up a little but was still the odd squelch here and there.once getting upto the snow line things firmed up under foot but as the cloud was shrouding the hills there was no views for the next 4 hours can't win sometimes .
On the way to Carn Dearg we found a bit shelter out of the freezing wind to have lunch as Archie was looking rather spent and had been running about for 4 hours.
The going was tough and energy sapping in the snow really feeling like mountaineering now and winter has definitely arrived .After walking for around 5 hours the cloud had started to lift and eventually we got some decent views thank god [/attachment]
We arrived back at the car after 8 hours of hard walking but the eventual views made all the effort worthwhile and another 3 in the bag happy days
