Route in described as 'a stalkers path a delight to walk' which in the main it was but some very soft sections that required careful negotiation.

Stalker track up Carn Ghluasaid

It was a lot colder today with a brisk wind and as we cleared the ridge it was akin to being in a sand blast chamber.

Steady climb to Sgurr nam Conbhairean following the outline of the path under the snow across the back of Creag a'Chaorainn.

Sgurr nan Conbhairean

P1080015.JPG
East to Glen Affric

Windy and cold snack break on Conbhairean and time for spikes as the snow was hard packed and icy in places.

West over Gleann na Ciche to Glen Affric

Sail Chaorainn

Snowy lunch on the Sail

Snowing on the walk up Sail Chaorainn, quite deep in places, the occasional clear patch gave good views. Stopped for lunch at the top, hiding behind a rock shelf to out of the wind.

Bealach to Drochaid an Tuill Easaich above Gorm lochan

Hard walk across the hill to the bealach up to Drochaid an Tuill Easaich, into the wind and blown snow but worth it as we gained the bealach.
On the bealach was deep fresh snow and we were below the cloud base so could see great panoramas to both the north to Glen Affric and south to Strath Cluanie.

Across Coire Lair to the way up Carn Ghluasaid

The walk out seemed long and energy sapping after walking most of the route in snow.
Opted to follow the road back to Lundie, luckily it was recognised that I was strapped and Pidge came back in a car to give me a lift for the final mile back to the car park.
