Had a wander roon pitfichie and Cairn William last week and thought it was great and well worth the effort.

Mind you probably best done during the week as it must be busy wee mountain bikes at the weekends i would think as the track looks great but only if you are olympic standard. some oh the doon hill bit i wandered up throo after wandering too far and missing the turn aff looked like neck breaking stuff.

but the zig zag decent from Cairn William looked braw.

Looks like you had a lovely day for this walk, nice pics. We often go up Cairn William but tend to do it from the other side, past the pink castle at Monymusk. The circuit makes a nice 4 hour wander :)

it was a braw day thanks and the scenery around that area is great.
A will give that side a go next time. i guess the entrance to the forest track a mile or 2 past the pink castle takes you round to the cycle paths up to the summit.

Yep, and then we usually head Westish across the hillside and down to the forest track and wander back along the landi track. As you say best to avoid it on a weekend as the bikers are a bit speedy!
