Walkhighlands

Leithy said it all regarding this route, so I won't write much.
I did it An Socach - Beinn Iutharn Mhor - Carn Bhac as I thought the established paths would be easier on tired legs, it worked ok.

Solo walk, so no banter to report back on, just a weird mix of music;
Cast, Neil Diamond, Lana Del Rey, Linkin Park vs Jay Z, Guns n Roses then Oasis with some assorted singles thrown in.

The gps track is roughly the way I went, I only turn on gps if I have no clue where I am or to confirm summit point.

I can add pics if you really want, I only took 19 as I was very cold and I was racing the sun as I was not sure if I could get round in daylight. Despite that, it was a fun day!

Timings
0730 - enough light to walk
0800 - sunrise and set off
0900 - at the ruins (where I left the bike)
1000- An Socach summit
1145 - Beinn Iutharn Mhor summit (via Loch nan Eun, contour following)
1315 - Carn Bhac summit (peat hags were sore on the legs)
1415 - at the ruins (faffed here with cables for a bit and spoke to Geo and Colin
1500 - at the car

Nice to finally met you Campbell, well on a big enough walk

The mileage wasn't that big but the terrain was tough!
Good to meet you, nicely done spotting the quicker descent.

Yeah sure we will soon. The Buck only 7k but spent about 4 hrs on it, nice sunny day bit cold when in the wind

well done, that's a big outing now that the days are getting shorter. Glad I missed out on the peat hags since I just did carn bhac that day since I've done beinn iutharn mhor and an socach before.

Did you bother to visit the colonels bed?
I once met an over-friendly sheep whilst camping at the ruins.. Now I dont have nothing against our fleecy friends, but having a dreepy wet een as a tent buddy in a 1 man tent is pushing the boundaries somewhat The lanolin still permeates some of my kit..

Just under 6 hours with a detour on the way back to see the colnel's bed. The track made it fairly easy going for most of the way. It was a really good day out, saw some dippers beside the river and the weather was nice too - it must have been chilly between the tops for you though since it was a cold wind at the summit of carn bhac

Beinn Iutharn Mhor was really really cold the others were ok, I didn't really hang around to avoid getting too cold!
Good time, was the colonels bed worth the visit?

aye it was pretty impressive but I didn't go too close to the edge because there were some slippy leaves on the path.

Well done, Meatball, getting round these three in seven hours. It's a long walk in and out along Glen Ey.
