Mainly followed the Walkhighlands route for these two, leaving from Keiloch then taking the right of way path towards Meall Gorm before joining the main track. I used my bike with a bit of pushing along the as far as the marker cairn for Carn Liath, this is where a path heads off to the left. Leaving the bike there i continued up the track on foot, taking a fainter track up towards Culardoch and then a path where another marker cairn marked the start of the short climb to the summit. I returned to where i had left the bike and and was on this path for minutes before leaving it to climb Carn Liath. There is a path, although faint at times, that leads upto the first cairn. There are four cairns on this mountain all similar in height so i decided to visit them all as no doubt in the future they will all get measured again and only one will be the summit. After cairn no.3 i had lunch at a shelter at the end of the wall and from here made my way across to the westerly top before returning to my bike. I returned round the north side of Carn Liath rather than go back over again and after reaching my bike i was back at the car in 35mins. The cycle/walk in took just over 1 hour, although i returned a slightly differant way, staying on the track all the way back to the car, freewheeling most of the way.

That looks like a great day JC, particularly the free-wheeling out  Not sure what to make of the scattered cairns but you certainly made sure you got the right one

Some parts of the world are full of them, cairns that is, the Atholl area is littered with them. Nice walk by the looks of it.

Cheers, cairns 2 & 4 are marked the same height on the map with the other two unmarked, so allways best to visit them all. :D
