Second time up Ben Lomond via the Ptarmigan route this year, but a much more interesting day, great views with some fine snow on the hills - and some nasty ice. It's days like this that makes us almost forget the rain and wind and mist that we often experience on the hills through the year, at last a chance for some decent photo opportunities. Ben Lomond is a great hill to have on your doorstep for a winter climb when the days are short..

Not quite Mt Rushmore, but some fine sculptured rock faces just below the summit of Ben Lomond.

Back down in the woods this friendly Robin almost landed on Leo's foot, must have been real hungry.
