Walkhighlands

Back in March 2011 RTMcB and I bagged our first Munro; Ben Vorlich (Loch Earn) (TR http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17244). I'd been eager to tick off Stuc a'Chroin ever since. Must admit I'd rather have re-bagged Ben Vorlich and headed up to Stuc a'Chroin via the scramble, however with the winter season on us if we were going to bag Ben Vorlich's mighty looking neighbour it'd have to be from Loch Lubnaig taking in Beinn Each. As it turns out this was a great little walk in its own right and Beinn Each is certainly worth doing - some lovely views. Anyway here are some snaps from the walk

It really was a great day yesterday and Stuc a'Chroin looked like it was gleaming from my vantage point on Ben Narnian (no report but photo's at some point). I agree about Beinn Each and it's a great wee hill if you fancy either a short walk or a long one taking in it's Munro neighbour.

It's great to see those views in those conditions, SM. That looks like a good walk over Beinn Each. Ben Vorlich and Stuc a'Chroin were my 15th and 16th Munros, in August clag. They look a lot better in your pictures.

And it's nice to see we're having a good dump of snow on the hills on both sides of the border. I visited your old friends Bowfell and Esk Pike on Saturday, everything was beautiful and white up there as well.

Thanks all - it was just about perfect at the weekend - hoping for the same this weekend but it's not looking likely

Sounds lovely - bet the lakes are looking stunning. Would love to pop down for another visit while the hills are capped with snow (and hopefully less people )

Cheers, it was a nice day. Headed to the Lade Inn for a pint and an early dinner after which hit the spot. Puff of cloud? Assumed it was pollution coming from Grangemouth power station in Falkirk... Looks nice from a distance

About time! Would say you don't know how lucky you are in Canada but I'm pretty sure you do

Cheers RH. I doubt there is a hill in the land that doesn't look better with its winter coat on

We kept seeing him from the car as we approached getting a tad excited! Looking forward to your pics of Ben Narnian - bagged him in the clag a few months back - must have been a very different picture at the weekend!

Lovely TR . It's been a few years since I've been on either of these two Munros or indeed Beinn Each, but from the top of our road you get a cracking view looking west above the rooftops and across Strathearn to these two big boys, and on clear days at the moment, they look (as someone else has said) like they are gleaming in their coats of white.

Great photos SMR Not done Beinn Each, but it looks a cracker - especially with the snopw covering it
