For a nice change, didn't have to get up in darkness to do this hill, so a semi long lie in and a wee saunter up in the car meant myself and Joyce were at the start point just before 12noon. Met by a large number of deer mulling around, quick jump into the boot to get the camera and .....no SD card! Not the first time i've done this and won't be the last, so had to rely on my phone camera but they turned out pretty good considering.
Quite an easy start up the initial slope and levelled out into a foot deep snow in places which made the going a bit slower. But made it to the summit in about 2hrs after a lunch stop as looked pretty exposed up top. And what views!! The colour on the hills was amazing, pinks, whites, yellows...well seeing as I'm colour blind they could have been anything but still pleasing to the eye
Back down was great fun, took a few tumbles in the deep snow as we crossed the peat hags which were all filled in with the white stuff. Back at the car at half 3 and was sad to leave the hill behind....looks like a boggy mess normally, but definitely worth a visit in winter time.
