Me and JB
The long awaited Beinn Bhuidhe which we have put off time after time as it finishes off this area for both of us and would have finished the 1st section of our munro books.
Set off at 7:45am with the head torches and headed along the very icy track to the derelict cottage in 1 hour 20 mins, quite chuffed with the time here as we were twinke toeing most of the way on the ice
Headed quickly at first up the steep slopes surprised that the snow was very soft.
Made it by the bad step no probs and had made really good time so far.
Once onto the north east slopes things changed, the snow was much deeper and softer than I thought and seen as we were the only numpties out there was no path to follow. It took 45 mins to walk 200 yards with the snow around 4ft deep and coming loose under our feet, decided enough was enough and made the easy decision to bail out as we werent getting anywhere, a real pity as both of us were really keen to get this one done
the decision was made easier as we decided we now had time to head to the drovers inn for a pint and some broth soup
Will definetly be back next year now and get this done, but with bikes this time
