We set off from the car park just past Braedownie farm on a track from Acharn up through Glen Doll forest &
crossed a bridge where the White water meets the Fee Burn before reaching Corrie Fee. We then walked along the winding path through Glen Clova in the sunshine, scaring off some deer in the process. The climb up to Mayar is a fairly steep but good path passing a waterfall as you go.
We reached the cairn @ Mayar & took a few pix of the snowy covered Cairngorms in the distance,
just 7 weeks earlier we had been up in Glenshee & done the 9 Munros in glorious sunshine, not
a drop of snow to be seen.We then headed back along to the col between the Mayar & Driesh & followed an
obvious path for about 3km up & onto Driesh where we had a spot of lunch & took a few pix before heading back along to the col & down the steep path through the Shanks of Drumfollow in the now glorious sunshine,
we passed a few groups of people just setting off to tackle the hills, they couldnt have chosen a better day but i was content in the knowledge that our hard work had already been done & theirs was just beginning!

Hi bthom8465, you picked a cracking day, with some great views from the top :) , all the snow gone from the plateau already :( . Your first picture is Craig Mellon and Cairn Broadlands I think, as Ben Tirran is further down the glen past Loch Brandy, it also has only a small plantation of trees at the very start.

Nice report, bt. A fine walk, that one. I found these two Munros very enjoyable to climb, and it's good to see you got the views.

Corrie Fee has to be one of my favourite places. Looks like you had a great day out :)
