New Year's Day, let's get up a hill, the first of 2013 and the first for me in about two weeks. Late start, left house at 0930hrs and arrived at the Glen Lethnot parking area just before 1030hrs. Fine sunny day and clear skies for once, just had to be careful on the minor roads up the glen for ice. The access road up the glen followed the West Water Burn, and crossed it at the bridge at Stonyford, 200m on there is a place for off road carparking on the South side, directly opposite the access track to the right of way track to over to Tarfside. Walk along road the way you came passing over a small bridge and take the access road to the farm at Auchowrie. The road runs adjacent to a small burn on the left, the road turns to the right, which you follow nearly to the farmyard buildings, where there is a gate on your left. Pass through gate (climb) and cross grass field near the radio mast and head for another gate out of the field onto the South West shoulder of Hill of Wirren.
