A fine weather forecast for today, so off I go to Glen Isla to pick up a couple of Marilyns. Head towards Brewlands Bridge just South of Mount Blair and take the minor road marked for Blacklunans, find a parking area at the start of the hill just opposite Nether Craig where there is an access track. Start off up the track at 10.00am, no sooner I'm on the track I'm off it as the track turns right I turn left heading for the Firebreak between the trees. Climb over the stone wall and proceed up the firebreak, the underfoot conditions are hard going and tussocky to say the least, no rythym in the legs.
- Meall Mor from the non listed road at the South of Mount Blair looking South West
- Parking area at the start of the walk
- View of the Firebreak from the roadside
- Walk between the fence line and boundary wall, hard going underfoot, tussocky grass, heather and hidden stones. Be wary coming down and take your time, easily go over your ankle
- View over Drumore Loch looking NW
- View back to the road looking over Nether Craig
- After the gradient relents you have to climb over a wooden fence, and continue climbing steeper
- Soon you come faced with another climb, cross the stone wall at this point, and continue following the wall
- Start heading South towards another stone wall and line of fence posts
- There is a section of grassed terrain which is easier to walk on than the tussocky heather, head for this and by now you can see the cairn at the top
- The cairn looking towards the Alyth Hill wind turbines, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh 25mins from leaving the car
- Mount Blair from the top of Meall Mor
