Started from Chapeltown and followed the track through the farm, leaving it after the trees to follow the ridge to the summit. Returned the same way, a straight forward up and down job, then drove to Lecht to walk Carn Ealasaid. 2hrs.

Arrived at Lecht, had lunch in car then set off through the ski tows. Two bad decisions were made on this walk, the first being to start from Lecht as i'm not a fan of the mess the ski-ing industry has made to our mountains and secondly once at the top of the tows i decided to cut across rather than take the ridge. Bad idea as it was full of peat hags and i was up and down all the way across, slipping and sliding all over the place. From the summit i returned to the south of the peat hags and over the wee hump back to the car. In hindsight i should have walked this one from the south, up the south east ridge which would have been a far nicer walk. 2hrs.

nice one johnny, starting the new year in fine form, they do look a little unimposing little hills but they have to be ticked, well done

We did the round route on Saturday, found a gortex mitt near the summit. Is it yours? Good easy walk and the corrie up the ladder is the best bit, several red deer and hares about, watched an Heron fishing back in Chapeltown, the mueseum worth calling in on.

Lovely part of the world JC, one I would have enjoyed I think. What happened with that summit pic, are you getting artsy or did the auto focus like the look of the ground directly in front of the camera

Haven't done Carn Mor yet but I enjoyed Ealasaid, even if the summit is one of the least inspiring Corbett summits I have come across.
