I've been fascinated me for a while by Carleatheran. The name alone is pre Gaelic methinks and steeped in antiquity, and must have been held in special regard to have retained it's ancient name for so long, apparently it's Welsh ( the old language of the Britons ) and means the Grey Fort. Couple this with it's crowning decayed burial mound and it's bleak moorland situation and it makes an irresistible target for a midsummer evening wander. So after work that's exactly what I did ,working my way up the side of the Gargunnock Falls and Crags onto the moor and following the quad tracks along the ridge. Lingered until sunset and picked my way back to the car at Gargunnock village...........
