Walkhighlands

We set off to walk Colt Hill and Wether Hill from Benbuie near Moniaive but got 2km from the start along the single track road to be beaten by the snow. There was nowhere to park at this point and had to get the car turned to head elsewhere. After turning at the bridge we got stuck and had to dig out the front tyres before using the car mat trick to get us back up the hill. We were now back on the road and decided to head back up the road and walk Lamington Hill. Only thing we had no map but i had read a report recently and new the starting point and had a rough idea where to go. We set off up the road after parking at the Church, leaving the road at Baitlaws to make our way through the woods. From here we started to climb Broad Hill and soon realised it was the wrong one, no problem though as we just skirted round climbed up to the ridge and and made our way up to Lamington Hill, returning by the ridge and track back to the start.

I ended up doing Lamington after being scuppered by snow on another plan, must indeed be a good plan B. But you got views, and fine they are.... Might well go back, nice round there...

Nice one JC, you got some beautiful photos when you finally got there I remember getting my saab stuck in the snow over there, I had to put it in reverse - rest my heavy lens on the accelerator (gently) - get out and push myself .....then run up the side and jump in got away with that little trick twice
