Decided not to venture far after the bad weather yesterday, so picked Ben Cleuch via Silver glen from Tillicoultry.
Dodgy walking in Tilli, you could see that the road had been gritted but was under 15mm+ of ice, did debate putting the spikes on walking to the footpath by the golf course.
Loverly fresh clear air and as we followed the track up the glen, the snow became soft and deep and in places was about 400mm deep. Pigeon decided to detour over the Nebit. Had intended walk to the end of the track and going via Ben Buck but with the depth of the snow replanned and went the traditional way over Ben Ever.
Decidedly windy on the summit with high wind chill so only stopped for a photo then off to the Law for the descent.
Out of the wind and in the face of the sun the snow was softening and melting which made for a slippy descent.
Stopped at a bench above Tilli for some of Senga's home made veg soup, good views.
Made the Woolpack for a well deserved glass of beer.
With Pigeon, Huck Finn & Christine, and Senga.
