I did this myself last year, this time Isabel was free to do it as well. Good day for it, sunny with plenty of fresh snow on the hills. Walked through university grounds, up Sheriffmuir Road to the car park and path to Dumyat. Plenty of black ice about and snow on the road up here, but didn't stop the car park filling up. We passed dog walkers, skiers, mountain bikers, runners and plenty of hillwalkers on the way. It clouded over for a bit and people rushing back down were telling us about rain for the afternoon. But we took our time as we do, it brightened up for us as we ate lunch in shelter just off the top. Pretty cold in the wind. Snow was great to walk in though, 6 inches deep, dry, firm stuff. We then walked back down. Passed several snowmen, sledgers etc.
Going through university again, passed police divers and searchers on boat looking for missing student. Bit sad, Over 7 days now. Walked back via Cambuskenneth and over the bridge back to Riverside. Met quite a few folk and they were impressed with our walk. So were we at the end of it. Only second walk this year.
At the top
the view over Stirling on the way up.
