An earlyish start at dawn heading up Coir nan Laogh.

The going was not too bad but still plenty of deep powder snow to wade through to reach the summit of Tom na Gruagaich with great views towards the "horns". It was quite windy on the top and the forecast gave a -24 windchill factor and it certainly felt like it so there was no time to hang about

Looking down the gully on the way up to Sgurr Mhor

On Sgurr Mhor I got a good view of the route ahead over the "horns" and have to say I was a little apprehensive about carrying on as they looked quite intimidating but after just spending 3 days winter climbing around Fort William I thought how bad can they be and decided to man up and go for it.

On the way down towards them I thought I'd get one last picture before my impending doom
_C6C5210.jpg

As they came nearer I began to feel a bit more comfortable when I could see footprints showing roughly where the route was and then a chap appeared on the top heading down my intended route  It's always nice to see someone else on the hill when your not feeling your most confident and before I knew it I was up on the ridge :D

The route is very straight forward and good fun, I was pleased I'd carried on.

The light was just starting to fade on the way down Coire Mhic Nobuil.

Great day out but very disappointed that the Torridon Inn was closed so headed to Shieldaig for a much needed Guinness :o
Along the way my mobile started going a little crazy with messages, people wanting to know where I was, was I safe and had I seen the news!! I then found out about the terrible news coming from Glencoe about the avalanche tragedy :(

Another impressive walk! You do save some fine hills for winter :D Absolutely love the pictures!
You did say Liathach was the end of 10 days walking. Can we look forward to more great reports? 8)
