Next weekend was on the calendar to join Scoob and Fi for a walk, but lastminute.com after a message or two between us all, we were on our way to Garva Bridge to start our walk up Geal Charn. What a treat and what fun the day turned out to be :D :D :D

Almost following the regular walkhighlands route, we were to take a small detour to see the 'wee window' looking eastwards and north over the mighty expanse of the Monadhliath Mountains  :D :D

Scoob, Fi and Valerie lining up with us now about 1km into the route :)

Heading up the slopes above the snow line now. All of us happy and looking forward to a relaxing day feeling optimistic about a clear day...

Look westwards over Feith Talagain, Leathad Gaothach and Creag Mhor.

The Lassies now enjoying the deepening snow :)

Onwards and upwards trying to keep up with Ritchie boy!

Valerie as ever very pleased to reach the top.....meanwhile Scoob prepares to press the video button and capture the occasion. Amazing views all round today, near and far :)
DSCN1342.JPG
Time for lovely warm homemade soup, crisps, chocolate and a bonio or two :)

Awh......

Off now for a look at the 'wee window'. Scoob and Fi had been reading about this spot the previous evening.

Ritchie arrives first to survey the scene, and what a beautiful spot :)

DSCN1370.JPG
Quiet, calm and majestic .... less bitter and cold too than the summit just 10 minutes earlier :)

Time to head home back down again, admiring the slopes and surroundings. Some skiers too cross our path taking in a special and rewarding day out in the hills.
DSCN1380.JPG
Progress not that straight forward though, but we had allowed plenty time and were enjoying the undulating changing snow cover with its secret deep and sinking spots :)
DSCN1383.JPG
Hehe hehe...
DSCN1384.JPG
Allt Coire nan Dearcag, lined in walls of ice, icicles and mini cornices all the way down. Not easy until now for Ritchie even to access and have a wee drink.

The ever watchful eyes of a local stag. Look below the pine tree to the left........

Back down safe and sound on Garva Bridge :)

Thanks Scoob and Fi, Valerie and I enjoyed a special day with you on Saturday (and Ritchie too) :D :D
