Farewell Angus Grahams, Hill of Wirren.

We started from Newbigging farm, parking the car by the entrance to the farm track. Walked up the track to the first gate on the right and took this track. We continued on it and crossed over Torr na Menach before stopping for lunch at a shed. After lunch we continued to East Wirren up the snow filled track. From here we continued over to Hill of Wirren. The peat bogs on this section were not a problem for us as there was so much snow around, not sure if it would have been easier crossing in the peat hags or the snow. We returned by the same route but going round Tor na Menach rather than over it. This was my final Graham in Angus, all of them being great walks in a lovely area, with this being the toughest one.

Look like a lovely walk and the blue skies always help :) I did a river walk in the Edzell area 2-3 years ago, really interesting rock formations around that way

wow what a fantastic day to be out in the hills JC, absolutely beautiful. It seems strange to see someone standing on snow so deep without snowshoes on, if you tried that around here you'd be up to your armpits in snow
