Shame that... but it is a steep and narrow road so would be very dodgy in snow. I once slept up at the Turret dam in the car - was bloody freezing at that height - even in summer!

There is the other route up to Ben Chonzie from the glen to the west (Lednock?)

I will always have fond memories of Ben Chonzie. Climbed it in December 2007 (no where near the conditions of this Winter) and was rewarded with a superb inversion aloft which seemed to last forever! I was so 'chuffed' that I 'popped into' the Glenturret distillery on my way home and bought our lass a 10 year old Macallan for Christmas! 8)

I had plans to tackle the Corbett Auchnafree Hill from the Turret Dam at some point over the festive period but quickly abandoned that notion as I just knew the road up there would be a no-go area for either of our two vehicles :( . It'll keep!

Was pretty much exactly my plan as well. Opted for something more accessible from the main road instead!

Is Auchnafree Hill off to the left or the right of the dam? I ask as I'm wondering whether I've done it but not realised! I came back over the hills to the left of the dam (looking from the carpark)...
