Keen on the snow

I did Loch Lee a while ago and this walk was as much fun, a bit easier and just as breath taking with its wonderful scenery. This was Ruby Gerry and I’s second winter walk. We chose this as it had good paths? Never thought the snow and the ice would hide the path as we zig zagged up the ladder glen. The walk and path along glen esk was covered with ice and snow but the easy going, though a bit slippy. However the light covering of snow made fine views all the way along

We had a wee look in through the windows , you can rent the cottage but take plenty of matches as there are a lot of candles!!

Any way the hard graft was walking up the ladder glen, the snow in parts was a good 3 feet deep. Hard going as walk up by the Counternach with fine views over to Pandewen. Once up at the plateau the walk is straight forward and not too steep till you near the summit and then it starts to get steep but nothing too hard.

The way back is exactly the same as the way up but quicker. A great walk with some great views especially with the crag coming in sliding over the snow covered hills.
