A wee saunter up Ben Donich

A day off and what to do ? Phoned Doogz to enquire of his availibility, and pick his brains concerning the 'cravassess' on Donich. He was available to walk, but had to be back early for work in the afternoon- oh dear, we'll have to meet kinda early He enlightened me concerning all the areas that might pose some difficulty- ie big holes and Choas Collies . Decided this was the hill for the day.
We drove up separately, and arranged to meet at the hard standing at 07:15. I drove passed the 'no entry' sign as it was snowing on arrival- parked near the hill Access point. Readied myself and the Baskervilles finest and waited, and waited.........decided to walk down to the road end to see if Doogz was on his way, only to find him trying to phone me Great start walked back and parked the car in the appropriate parking area
On arrival the cloud was low and the snow settling on the road, but it started to clear and glow pink- good sign that

The path was frosty, with areas of ice and a liberal dusting of powder- will have to watch our feet today ! The forecast was near enough spot on- sun and little wind, but possible flurries. It was warm on the initial part of the climb with the sun starting climb over the Cobbler. The Collies were having their usual ball.

Glen was a bit of a pest today, not listening to commands- so had to be 'Waggy fingered' on several occasions, his brother being the total opposite, not far from my side.

Negotiated the crags, the downclimb and 'cravassess' with relative ease, and the dogs leaded up just in case !. Crossed the cut and up the rise- to walk along the edge of the hardened snow as the path was pretty treacherous in places.

Great Hill!
Did the Brack the other week and was tempted to re- do Beinn Donich but seemed a long haul up from the beallach.

What a great day to be out in the hills, this looks a fantastic wander with spectacular views all the way and with those two beautiful dogs providing the entertainment it must have been a blast
