An early start for a Saturday - alarm making a horrible noise at 3.15. Thank goodness I'm not driving today. 8)

Out of the car and ready to walk by 7. -6 on the thermometer with clear skies and freezing fog inversions - cold but promising...

We're soon stomping along a good path looking up at the first summit ahead of us.

We cut off the path a little earlier than we should but made it across the stream without incident. Soon we're heading up and into the snow line. The views open up behind us, this could be good.

Approaching the summit the cloud starts to roll in...nuts! :wtf:

Still the going is still good and there is plenty of wildlife - hares and ptarmigan.

Summit of A 'Chailleach - no bother, cloud stil heading in but nothing a sandwich and handful of EJ's patented "mountain mix" can't sort.

What more cloud? where did this come from? Oh well one of those days. We drop down toward the stream in zero visibility. Unfortunately this is it for most of the day. We find the fence posts though and make it to Carn Sgulain. Best have another sandwich

looking "cool" Brad

Well 4.5 miles to Carn Dearg, with the only view being the next fence post.

We get to the bealach for Carn Dearg. We can tell we've made it as its like walking into a windtunnel. Carefully we make the summit while staying away from the edge.

No hanging round here, so we head down into the glen. Its a fine walk across the heather with the snow blowing, no bog issues today as its all frozen.

Back to the car and a long but satisfying day out is done.
