This board helps you to share your walking route experiences in England and Wales... or overseas.
Warning Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.

This is the starting point for our trip to Pen y Van on easter day.

The path is good.

We were not alone.

And it was a tad more of winter up there.
Image
The saddle between Corn Du and Pen y Van was very blustery and icy.
Image
At the summit.
Image
A strange weather phenomenon made it very quiet at the top. No wind at all.
Some views.

And a raven.

Some people used alternative transport.

That is Graig Fan Ddu.
Image
The sun and wind polished the ice.
Image
But no snow on the lower altitudes. Time for a hot drink.

Waterfalls.

Back to Brecon where we stayed.
