I had been looking at my os map trying to figure it out and couldn't tell if the public were permitted access to that path or not. After reading your report I attempted it on Tuesday afternoon but that was the exceptionally hot day and we had the dog with us, we didn't expect it to be as hot and we all started to feel a bit exhausted despite it being a nice easy walk. We got as far as where the path starts to split and you can head to Ben Thrush. The wind mills weren't on when we were up and we actually quite enjoyed it as it was something a bit different for us, will be heading back for attempt 2!
Hi Sarah86, you did well picking a day the turbines were not on, that was the main reason for the dislike, hearing all the strange noises of the revolving blades. Hope when you return your lucky enough to get another OFF day so to speak

And remember to take a couple of summit photographs if the sky is clear
