started walk today fron Ravenstone Hotel, walked up onto Ullock Pike then onto Longside following ridge decided to continue onwards climbed upto Carlside then descended through Dodd Wood following road back to car.
weather - summits covered in mist no views until coming off Carlside when sun broke through, still snow on ground on highest parts of hill.
seen about 8 other walkers on route today most who were going onto Skiddaw, most encountered wearing crampons and ice axe but conditions not that bad.
enjoyable walk all round.

That's a nice shortened route when you don't fancy doing Skiddaw - I did it myself in summer 'cos it was rotten weather. The Ullock Pike ridge is great isn't it! :)
