Did these on the holiday friday, left the house about quarter to 6 and had a nice quiet A82 on the way up. Signs up for road works after Ardlui starting on 28th May for...60 weeks  Turn off for single track road is about 5 miles after Invergarry, then it's 15 miles on this road but there's good visibility ahead so you don't have to crawl along. There's construction work just before the parking space, and materials have been stored in the space so get there early.

I did this anti-clockwise but everyone else I met was going the other way. Started along the road and missed the start of the path, so I just cut off upwards and joined it. On the path now:
Image

View ahead, bit of a trek at the start, muddy in places and the best views are behind you but it's probably better to get this bit over with now rather than have to do it at the end.
Image

Bit rocky higher up with soft snow on the steepish grass. Wee Loch Fearna, big Loch Quoich and Gairich on the other side.
Image

Top of Spidean Mialach.
Image

On the ridge now, not much more ascent.
Image

View east from the cairn, Lochs Loyne and Garry.
Image

Rest of the ridge.
Image

Spidean Mialach from further along, there are ridges leading up from the north side that look a bit more interesting.
Image

Another cairn and Loch Quoich.
Image

Next hill is Creag Coire na Fiar Bhealaich.
Image

Easy descent, bit rockier on the way up with path or short scrambles.
Image

Gleouraich from the top, looks further than it is and not as much descent/reascent this time.
Image

Steep down the north side towards Glen Loyne.
Image

Sgurr a'Mhaoraich.
Image

Spidean Mialach from the top of Gleouraich.

3 shots of the South glen Shiel ridge starting from the west:

And east:

Ridge veers to the south, great views today.
Image

Gairich and the boggy walk in.
Image

Onwards, there's more parking down at the bridge.
Image

Good path the rest of the way back to the car.
Image

Anti-clockwise was the least popular route today, but you get the boggy walk in done at the start and the best views are ahead as you walk along the ridge - also, there would be a steep descent from Spidean Mialach going the other way.

The round of these two still ranks as one of my best days on the hills, even though it rained all day, I got soaked and saw pretty much hee-haw  Simply a stunning area though and you had a great day for it too, with some great photos to look back on :D I'll definitely return one day soon, hopefully when the sun is shining

I was contemplating going up that way this weekend but 60 weeks of roadworks on the A82 (it's bad enough as it is) has me thinking twice :?

Great pictures.

Very nice :)
I also did this anticlockwise. Was one of my favorite hill days - the views are amazing.

Cracking photos there, some vivid colours, enjoyed reading it.

We went to do the route anti-clockwise as well. However, we got turned back in a whiteout after summiting Spidean Mialach. Got to go all the way back up there for just Gleouriach now!
