Again an unplanned outing this week but a combination of great info on Eastern Highland weather from a Twitter buddy and a continuing apetiete for weekly hills we decided to have alate start , take it easy and do Meall Buide with an option of Stucd an Lochain if we could be bothered.

I'll keep it brief .
Long windy road, missed turning, more windy road, lots of sheep, lambs, highland coo's, a gate you open, a couple of dams (I mentioned a wrong turn.. ) and we were at Loch an Daim, it was warm(ish) and we had plenty of time so off we set,

Its pretty easy , sloping ascent, boggy in parts if you take the wee turning at the mini cairn about 400m along the stony road @(which we did) and then hits the Mordor (see Lord of the rings) of bigs later up but after an easy ascent you do get the WOW factor of the Glas Coire and the stunning curving flat ridge to the sumit cairn. :D

Great views and i mean GREAT! , windy as heck and some rain/hail after we summit'd to speed us down but all in all a great hill and no.17 for me and Mrs Mac and yet another day rememebering how amazing this country of ours is!.

Pics to tell it better than I do

Nice report coachmacca. Some great pictures as well. Think I'll add this to this year's short list; I reckon my boy would enjoy the dam.
Cheers, MG
