Nice straightforward Munro outing

Sunrise over Loch Awe, on the ascent of Beinn a Chochuill

with a pleasant ridge section to link the two munros

Views across to Cruachan horseshoe fantastic.

Descent is steep but nothing dangerous to worry about and is not very long. Ice and snow might cause some concern (or a very quick descent back to the access road!).

Looking down the final descent back to the access track... not too bad really!

Weather was perfect (but cold). Clear enough to see across to An Teallach and further. Ground was iced over above about 700m - so crampons essential.

Great pics. Amazing how there is so little snow on that final slope compared to the ridges

Yup, it turned very icey once we hit about 850m. If I had realised there was so little snow left on the slopes, I might have done a more adventurous walk and even ditched the damned rope I was carrying! Nevertheless, we took our time, enjoyed the near perfect weather and soaked in a brilliant day out.
