Struie hill standing at 373m is not the highest of hills and therefore does not take long to reach the summit. 30 mins depending on fitness level.

You can start by parking your car off the B road located at grid reference NH650850. Head along the road 50 yards and on your right you will see the start of the track most people use.

The views are almost immediate. This one taken near the top. Image

The view looking north west: Image

The views are outstanding and you get a real 360 degree view. Looking west your can see some of the biggest summits in the area. Again the same can be said of looking south east. I highly recommend this walk to even the most experienced of walkers.

I was a little disappointed as the main reason I wanted to be on top at 4:22am was to see sunrise. But all I could see was cloud. :( I will almost definitely be up there again.

Out of curiosity I had to check & see where Struie is, I have to admit I had never heard of it

3am start is a bit extreme, especially if the clouds get in the way, looking on the bright side, the hill will still be there for another day

I live in Tain. 20 Min's away. The views are well worth the trip.

I wanted to catch sunrise. It turned out to be cloudy.
