A friend who is nearly complete with his round of Munros asked me if I wanted to climb in Skye with a guide. I jumped at the chance even though I have no hope of finishing all Munros. Three of us had good climbing on 3 days but the middle day was to be the day I would hit the half century and on the highest peak in Skye.

We set off from the MRT lodge in Glen Brittle up past a very high waterfall which I must return to photograph and up to the corrie. So far so good with light cloud well above the peaks but cooling the sunshine which broke through now and then. Took a break at the lochan with the large beached whale rocks and set off for the top - up the stone chute.

Now that chute is something else. Is there a right way and many wrong ways to tackle this :? ? I tried all ways and I think they were all wrong and painful. A break half way up and another plod on to reach the saddle. Here we left our sacks, took our cameras and scrambled to the top. Great views all around as there wasn't any clag - only clear views to Torridon, Knoydart and Harris.

The other summits attained in these 3 days were Sgurr nan Eag, Sgurr Dubh Mor and Sgurr nan Gillean. 4 in total but reaching 50 was a the highlight. Some photos of the day below which I'm sure many have photographed before.
