Window of Hope.

The forecast for the far north was sketchy at first but was to clear later. Should be clearing quite nicely by the time I get there. Drove through a lot of rain showers the heaviest at Ben Kilbreck with only a slither of mountainside showing under the cloud base. Not looking great!
I arrived at the foot of the hill, cloud still low, ate and took my time getting ready.
Noted a gradual lift. Time to set off! Followed the clear path alongside the burn for a bit before crossing over. Fairly wet and muddy but was kinda expecting it!
A few mountain plants in flower. You can also find these growing on sea crags as well as mountains.
An improving picture!
I took my time ascending, and seemed to be going at the same speed as the lifting cloud base ahead. Great veiws opened up.
Thought the cloud would clear on approaching the summit but a final rush of cold whipped the mists back down. Not keen on cloud walks - at all! I pushed on without too much concern, knowing it wasn't going to hang about long.
Almost there!
Cold but happy chappie.
An improved picture opportunity on the drive back.
Had a great day and didn't even mind the long drive back.
