Before I switched to using a digital camera I foisted myself upon the organisers of the 2007 Dundee Mountain Film Festival with the offer of a small exhibition of some large prints I'd had made from old negatives.
I had to convince someone beforehand that the prints were of sufficient quality so made a pre festival trip especially to discuss this. Happily, the chap I spoke to said yes immediately on seeing the prints.
The highlight for me was meeting Irvine Butterfield who had made a point of talking to me about the prints and, I thought, obviously recognised in me someone whose heart was in the mountains even if the prints weren't of professional quality.
