AJ and myself met SAVAGEALICE in the car park, in Glen Fishie for an early start (for us) at 9am.
AJ got a text message from a friend informng him that a guy had a heart attack on Beinn Bhrotain the day before and died in hospital after being airlifted there. Pretty sobering thought!
We geared up and wandered down the road to the path leading up to the hills. After a bit of collective short sightedness, we noticed the right name on the rock, track marker by looking at it from a different angle.
The following slog up to around 900m was slow and relentless.
AJ and Alice are way ahead of me in terms of fitness, so had to stop for me to catch them up at times.
We got to the top of the path and followed it across towards Monadh Mor, ignoring the left turn up towards Sgurr Giaoth.
We met a fellow hillwalker (finally) and had a long and one sided chat about laws of roaming on the hills. We bade the guy goodbye and headed off down the land rover track.
At the bottom we had to ford a few streams and head over boggy ground to reach the Northern flank of Monadh Mor.
It took us a while to find a sensible place to ford the little beck and we managed it daintily (Alice), workman like (AJ) and one with a clumsy ending (Me). No boots got too wet, so we headed up the flank of Monadh Mor and to the summit.
We were rewarded with some fantastic views to the East of The Devils Point and Carn Toul.

AJ and Myself (taken by Alice) wandering down to the col, to Beinn BhrotainWe dropped to the col between the two days Munro's and slogged our way up the steep rocky flank of Beinn Bhrotain. Some of us were considerably slower than others......no prizes for guessing who.
After I joined Alice and AJ in a shelter near the summit trig point, we managed to take a photo of all three of us on a timer.
Group shot on the summit. From left to right Myself, AJ, SAVAGEALICEThe return journey was pretty much an exact return of the route we took up.
We did see a Ptarmigan and chicks on the way back over Manah Mor. And Alice had a little slip on the rocky summit of Bhrotain. Luckily no damage done though!
We got back to the cars after almost exactly 9 hours of walking and said goodbye to Alice, who had to be away for work in the morning.
All in all, a fantastic day in the hills, meeting another person from this site. Great fun and another good day in the hills.
