Parking is at the end of the second left turn for Kilmuir as you are driving from Uig. You drive by the ruined church at Bornesketaig. I walked from the parking area to near the cliff edge and followed to the point where the path drops down the grassy slope to the Cave of Gold. You have to pass through a gate in a fence that is boldly marked Private Property and a second sign stating No Trespassing. According to WH the crofter that put these signs up sometimes threatens walkers, but I didn't have any problem.
The grassy slope is quite steep but I had no difficulty. There is no ascent with this walk until it is time to return to the top of the cliffs. I spent 4 hours here as I was waiting for the sun to set for photographs. I would definitely recommend this as a spot to visit if on the Isle of Skye.
