:? Just back from a few days in the Gorms and wondered about summit cairn on Sgurr Gaoith above Glen Feshie. In the walkhighlands Munros guide there is a lovely two-page pic of a walker on the summit with a small cairn at his feet. Last week (in pretty thick mist) there was a single upright granite boulder on my high point. GPS said I was in right place and gave me a height of 1120 metres. So was I on the summit or not?

It had a cairn a few weeks ago, but it's small enough to have been dismantled: see this report: http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=32348
There is a lower top about 50m to the south, but the visibility would have to be terrible to mistake it for the true summit.

Just adds to my doubts but since I'd climbed Gaoith before years ago it doesn't matter much in the wider scheme of things!
