A Ring of Tarf

We planned a big circuit, taking in over two days the remote hills south of the Feshie/ Geldie moat, followed by a traverse of the Beinn a Ghlo range. A start was gained by walking in to Allt Sheicheachan on the Thursday evening, surprising the lone occupant who had turned in for the night; a share in a can of Old Speckled Hen was proffered in apology. In the event, we enjoyed a long full Day 1 in improving weather along the trackless Tarf/Feshie (Geldie) watershed with no temptation to slope off early to the Hotel. Magnificent walking, with fine views to the main Cairngorm ranges. Day 2 tested our back-to-back fitness, but one sub-Murdo and three Munros later we enjoyed a celebratory beer in the Bothy Bar.

A contrast in style Day 2, with paths and people, but the same big skies and tremendous outlook.

Thanks to MBA, the lad frae Perth who ran us down to Blair and Rob for driving and fine company!
