Well done on your first Munro, and for a super report with great photos. A wall of iced snow near the summit prevented me from getting to the top in April, but I made it a month later, and it was a similarly sunny day. Enjoy the next 281!!

I doubt we'll ever get to the magical 282 as I know that the Inn Pinn will be a major obstacle to us (we both aren't good with rock climbing and abseiling). I'd be happy just to get to 50-100.

Was a perfect day. Glad I lugged the Fujifilm with me on the walk. Very happy with the photos. Hopefully one day we'll be brave enough to venture out in winter to the hills.

I did this route in poor conditions in Feb a few years ago - it was OK, easy navigation and route finding even though the upper parts were snowy. There's a recent good report on the route by Mountainlove which may be useful.

The one thing we did wrong was on the way down - we descended into Strath Nethy over Bynack Beg to get out of the wind. The path in the glen was horribly boggy!

Maybe you need to have more flexible plans - often a good idea in the Scottish winter!
