A day in the Torridon heat

Loch Carran ann Taobh Siar Rois , Di haoine
In 1885 the minister of Loch Carrann (Lochcarron) parish reported to the statistical account “The language generally spoken is the Gaelic; but English is spoken by a great proportion of the younger people. Gaelic cannot be said to have lost ground for the last forty years; but it has been much corrupted by our frequent intercourse with the south, and the silly vanity of persons, who wish it to be understood, that they know something of another language."
I ve only ever played shinty here and I know the Gaelic still survives in these parts but I have never been through the Strath .
So with a grand forecast for Friday past ,so I packed the car and left for Achadh na Seileach tea time Thursday night looking to climb Beinn Liath Mhor , Sgorr Ruaidh and Fuar Thuill on Friday.
Only 2.5 hours and I was at the "train station" ! ..... chan eil moran a 'seo !
No much to see here ,so I went back along the road a bit and set up the car camp in an old forestry t point.
Strange dreams while sleeping in the car , first dream I had two punctures even went out to check when I woke up at 2am then later woke with a jump as the car was rolling down the brae ..... nah just another dream .......tent next time
A fhalbh suas gu Coire an Láir aig ....... 6.30am to beat the heat ,some grand Pines in here
Agus tha an slighe math is tioram .... nice and dry underfoot and once out of the Giusachan a grand spectacle
There is no problem on the path up to Drochaid Coire Lair and we made short work to the summit of the shoulder at 876m
Ach bha an greine a' dhearrsachd agus ro théth ...... it was very warm even this early and some nice inversions to the Ceann Talla beannan
A rough stony ridge this and some grand drops down into the coire but overall no problems just a wee bit care .There are some stunning hills here in this area .
The summit has extensive views all around and we were spoiled for choice today although hazy still bonnie and clear enough and that wee bit atmosphere with haze
On the summit we had a break for half an hour to take in the sealleadh ,by this time it was roasting hot but a nice wee breeze was up keeping An Cu cool
On our way down we picked our way down through the crags and hit the bealach at the correct spot ,wee bit tricky in places where there is wet skitter rocks. Its a steep but easy haul up to the summit of Sgorr Ruaidh with some stunning views.
The cárn is reached quickly but we headed down to the lochan at the cliffs for a break from the heat .....
After a good hour we then headed off for Fuar Thuil again no real problems here but some slippy rock around the wet spots
Another nice summit and plenty time to lie around again .
We dropped down the scree path back onto the good stalkers trail which took us back to the car . These hills are a good day out and fairly taxing we will be back soon
