Congratulations, MrD  what a great way to finish ! Thought I'd already posted but must've goofed it  Was up Beinn Sgritheall on the Friday evening instead of original plan of holding off until the Saturday morning - otherwise I could've been waving to you over the water  All the best - cheers :)

Thanks Miss... Aye that wasn't so long ago... I think the task is easier now with the Munro Count reduced to 282, but I do recall measuring out exactly the halfway point of the round, at 141.5 Munros... :D

victoria and kids all good thanks, will pass on...

Wonderful report, and absolutely fabulous pix. It illustrates how incomparably enticing the place is - as if the map view wasn't already enticing enough - no roads at all.

I will visit Knoydart.

Thanks for this, also for your Mullardoch report from 2012, that inspired me to go for it also.

It's so great that people take the time to share their impressions and pix, and inspire others to experience some of the unfathomable wonder this short life has to offer us. I wonder if people do it in part because the experience is so beyond words that they really want to find some way to communicate to others what they too could experience.

Alter Knacker

PS is it worth doing all the Munros? Some are utterly inspiring to look at, others somewhat less so?? Having done them, would your recommend all to others...???

Thanks Alter Knacker... And congratulations on Mullardoch - it's a decent walk that - glad my report inspired you to give it a go, it was one of a few real stand out adventures in my journey over the munros... :)

And regards is it worth doing all the Munros? I'm firmly in the 'Yes' camp... People will have their different views... It was right for me... I'd never have climbed Ben Chonzie were it not a Munro, but then I'd never have seen close to thirty Mountain Hares in their winter coats darting about... I believe there's no such thing as a dull hill... those that are more rounded - just add snow and they're still an adventure :)

In summary, I'm really proud to have climbed them all, I've seen some things the casual tourist or the people that return to the same hills time and time again never will, but at the end of the day the only thing that really matters is whether or not it matters to you...
