Walkhighlands

The Cromwellian troops who landed in Loch Abair in 1654 generally lived in fear of the local tribes and skulked in "An Gearasdan Dubh nan Inbhir lochaidh " ....or the black garrison of Inverlochy .

At Achdalieu on the trail to Loch Arkaig Clan Cameron attacked some 60 of these unfortunate Englishmen, only 15 survived to bring back a tale of a strong , dark skinned Cameron who had bitten the throat out of a red coated officer with his teeth, during the hand to hand fighting.

Eoghann Dubh claimed " it was the sweetest bite he had ever tasted "

We climbed these Corbett's from Gleann Cia Aig .... aite bhóideach , a bonnie wee glen and the road is well metalled for forestry operations so it is easy going and a bike will take you a long way in here



A' dh aithghearr chi sinn am bhealach idir Meall an t Sagairt agus Meall na h elide ....... over the stile and head to the bealach ,just follow the burn up to the bealach.



It is a steep climb and we stayed close to the burn due to the heat but you quickly find yourself on the bealach with good views all around







There is a wee haul up and over a few false summits until you are on the mullach





Geal Carn lies a good bit round and you have to go over Meall Coire nan Saobhaidh which is another wee bit of ascent .



Once you are over that Geal Cárn ... uill nach eil I fad air falbh



Grand seallaidh to the West over at Gleann Cuaich and indeed down Arkaig to Na garbh Criochan agus Cnoideart



A hot day for walking indeed but fine country nice and airy I would recommend these two to anyone as good if not better than many Munros







We exited off the shoulder of Geal Carn and down into the glen but rather than walk down Allt dubh we made our way back through into Gleann Cia Aig ,no time difference and saves walking along the Arkaig road for 3K.

Sometimes small can be a whole lot better than the larger neighbours ,these is cracking wee hills and well worth a visit

Thanks for posting Collaciotach, I had these ones on my to do list along with maybe adding the wee Graham Glas Bheinn. I always like following a burn especially when its a hot day Looks a fine day out with nice walking conditions on top.

Great views to Knoydart and Glen Dessary from these, and they don't see much traffic (or reports). Was up Glas Bheinn recently and really enjoyed watching the weather from it

It is a great wee hill ,starting to get distracted by these wee ones

Aye would be an easy add although I 'd be tempted to do these two first ending on Geal Cárn ,before dropping to the 440 point at the right hand bend top of the Allt Dubh path b4 ascending Glas Bheinn .

A drop back into Allt Dubh from Glas Bheinn looks a good bet

A nice wander these two. You got a better day than i got and a different route by the looks of it.
