A few Corbetts North of Loch More
Posted: Thu Aug 01, 2013 12:21 pmThese Corbetts were visited before an earlier trip made to the hills on the South side of of Loch More....Two and a half days in Sutherland in 2010. Meallan Liath Coire Mhic Dhugaill must have a longer label than any other Scottish hill? Hee and MLCMD were visited on the first day and after an overnight camp the two further North were our exercise for the second day.
- Up from West Merkland on a track then later a path which faded after a couple of kilometres.
- Ben Hee summit with Ben Hope behind.
- Ben Stack was to dominate the rest of the day as here on descent from Hee.
- From the East end of Loch More MLCMD can be accessed.
- Ben Stack seen from the top of MLCMD as can both Foinaven and Arkle but my image taken was a bit fuzzy.
- Upwards to Beinn Spionnaidh from the sheepfarm at Rhigolter.
- Near to Carbreck, up on the road, is where a motor can be left.
- Kyle of Durness and Faraid Head to the North...never been there.
- Fine views of the tops to the NE...Ben Hope and Ben Loyal.
- From summit area of Spionnaidh...Ganu Mor and Ceann Garbh of Foinaven.
- Boulder field descent from Cranstackie...nice dry one without lichens etc. ....rough surface and does not move around....good!
